The RIDGID 1224 is a heavy-duty threading machine for the workshop or a large site, covering 1/4" to 4" pipe. This is the 230 V, 50 Hz single-phase BSPT version, and it comes with two die heads, BSPT dies, a cutter and a reamer, so it is ready to thread when it arrives.
Key features
- Induction motor runs quietly, which helps in a shared workshop.
- Capacitor-start / capacitor-run motor keeps threading through the full range of material, even where the site supply voltage sags.
- Universal 1/4"–2" die head plus a receding 2½"–4" die head, for tapered or straight threads (BSPT/BSPP, or NPT/NPSM with the matching dies).
- Two-speed gearbox (3:1 ratio): 36 rpm for smaller pipe and 12 rpm for 2½"–4".
- Oil is fed through the die head, so the dies and the work stay lubricated throughout the cut.
- Hammer-type chuck with replaceable jaw inserts and a cam-action rear centring device.
